Chapter 9

Web 2.0 keeps evolving and changing.
Although there are a few apps that will beat the phase and stick around much longer. A few are in the picture above.

One part that stood out to me in this chapter is the:
Chris Anderson's 2006 book, The Long Tail, explains that today's opportunities for finding exactly the right book, piece of music, video, or other object are possible because of the Web's endless supply. Everything anyone could want is someplace online.
[Page 173, Schrum, Solomon]

Basically the above is stating that if you want to know something you simply go to the internet and key in what you want into a search box. It is literally at your finger tips. You can use what you teach in school they can go home and access the same site at home. The vast amount of information can be found.

The future of the internet will only come with time but in the mean time right now teachers can hold wikis, blogs, and others can find and follow to see how things are going. Although not all software will be right for every student.

Textbooks will be changing also, for some school it may be more beneficial for electronic textbooks while at other schools physical books will be better.
Even Games have began teaching and Gamers have began learning form them.  This is by responsiveness. They learn about lands they can not travel to. The receives little tokens or awards for their success. They learn to invest in them-self. They even learn how to personalize them self or build their own identity.  They learn dependability or even finding or reasoning  to an answer .

Even the teachers learn about new tools and how to use them in the classroom.
There is a website: http://etoolkit.org/etoolkit/  - that helps teachers brainstorm about the future and provides help.

Below is a short video from Youtube just to get you thinking on why we should incorporate the new tools in school.
