Chapter 6

Going in to the 21st Century new teachers need more leadership skills due to the fact of Web 2.0 skills integration in to the classroom.
 they will need:

      • individual excellence
      • organization skills
      • courage
      • results (goal-oriented)
      • strategic skills
      • operating skills.

With blogs they can replace emails.as a way to communicate with students, parents, or other educators.  because of this everyone get the updates, with the post of homework, long-term assignments, and explanations, events and other information. they can interact on the blog as well.
The above stood out to me because I never thought of using a blog in that capacity.

Some schools use Blackboard where students can access off campus. Some schools use Moodle which is an open source and they can customize. with both of these they can take quizzes, test, list resources, student can turn in work, post grades, all 24/7. It even links the students all together where they can communicate with each other.

Open source is programming code that is freely available to use and modify , upgrade, and customize.
Linux is one of the most use open-source in school districts.

Some school districts use a main server and the students and staff computers are dumb terminals or thin clients.  meaning they have no hard drive or software.

colleagues, staff, parents, students, and the larger community.

nurture, and support faculty and staff in using technology for
improved productivity.

technology resources.
5. maintain awareness of emerging technologies and their potential
uses in education.
